Head Coach: Shane Kokensparger
Shane is a graduate of The University of Findlay and is currently teaching Special Education at Waite High School. He was a four year starter for the Devils wrestling team and earned may top honors during his wrestling career. He compete and wrestled with many top notch wrestlers during his years. Coach K also coach the Junior Olympic team for Ohio during the 2010 season. He has coaching experience in Football, Wrestling, and Track from 2009-2011 within Findlay City Schools. He also led Tiffin Calvert’s Wrestling team to their 4th straight MAL title in 2010.
He coached 8 state Qualifiers and 7 state placers (3rd, 3rd, 5th, 5th, 5th, 6th, 7th)
This is Shane's second year coaching at Waite. He will also be the first head wrestling coach at Waite since they cut the program 4 years ago. Last year he led the Indians junior high wrestling program to an undefeated dual meet season; while capturing the Toledo City League Championship.
Last year the Waite Indians were the class of the field in the city league with 7 city champs and winning the team title by 50+ points. Coach K is also the team operations manager for football. Coach K has been happily married to his wife Andrea for eight years. They have two daughters Addison (7) and Elliot (2)
